In 2017 our founder Laura O’Driscoll started working as an Interim Consultant to support organisations with their recruitment projects and short-term needs.

Laura uses her experience of in-house recruitment to help build recruitment functions, improve existing functions or deliver on large growth plans.

Having managed agency providers for years Laura was always sure that there had to be a better way to outsource recruitment. The traditional business model of high-cost percentage placement fees has given way to some poor behaviours over the years and clients and candidates were crying out for change, looking for alternatives to job agencies.

Based in Taunton, Somerset, we support clients across the UK with our unique business model, Recruitment on Subscription.

  • The cost is not determined by the salary – you can always trust the advice you are given on the salary package and the candidate offer negotiation process.
  • You take full ownership of the data – we do not ‘own’ candidate CVs, you pay for our time and as such we will hand across the shortlist to you.
  • If you make more than one placement you won’t be hit with extra fees – as you own the shortlist, if you want to make multiple appointments, or revisit the shortlist in 6 months, you can do so without fear of incurring additional fees.

OUR TIMELINE

2017

Laura started the business as a sole trader whilst doing interim contracts.

This is when Laura’s first company, OD Talent Solutions, became a private limited company.

2019

Our first employee is brought on board.

We are accepted onto the Natwest Accelerator Programme.

2020

We get our first office and welcome more employees.

We win the Successful Women in Business award for Professional Services.

2021

Laura O’Driscoll is recognised as one of our region’s top business leaders and entrepreneurs in Insider magazine’s 42 under 42, class of 2021.

We move to a bigger office as we welcome more team members.

Sully joined the team as our official Chief of Happiness Officer.

2022

We are shortlisted for our first National award – The Small Awards, Supply Chain Champion Award 2022.

We outgrow our office by doubling our team and move to Collar Factory in Taunton with Ellie, Kim and Fran joining us.

We are announced as Community & Social Impact Champion finalists at the 2022 Business Leader Awards.

2023

We start a fresh and operate under a new business, The Outsourced Recruitment Company.

We move to our new premises in Paul Street, Taunton.
